The descriptive category of a job that is based on the computer resources it requires when running.
job class [′jäb ‚klas]
(computer science)
The set of jobs on a computer system whose resource requirements (for the central processing unit, memory, and peripheral devices) fall within specified ranges.
(industrial engineering)
A group of jobs involving a similar type of work, difficulty of performance, or range of pay. Also known as job family; job grade; labor grade.
