Chemal
a climatic koumiss health resort in the mountains of Altai Krai, RSFSR. It is situated at an elevation of 410–620 m, 186 km southeast of the Biisk railroad station. The winter is moderately cold, with a mean January temperature of – 13°C, and the summer is warm, with a mean July temperature of 18°C. Precipitation is about 515 mm a year. Die sentrale karakter is Freddie Chemal wat as jongman opdaag in die afgesonderde dorpie Aib om vir 'n kort tydjie (so het hy gedink) te werk as onderwyser, voordat hy medies gaan studeer met die geld wat hy tydens sy verblyf op Aib sou verdien en spaar. |
