Originally the parade, one of Britain's oldest celebrated festivals, took place on the years that the Chester Mystery Plays were not held.
A concert performance of this year's acclaimed Chester Mystery Plays - the Second Coming, will take place in Liverpool Cathedral on October 10 and 11.
One of the best shows of the World Stage Festival was Broomhill Opera's The Mysteries, a South African version of the medieval Chester mystery plays that was filled with imagination, humor, poign-ancy, dance and some great a capella choral singing.
