a lake in the southeastern part of the Federal Republic of Germany, in Bavaria. The Chiem has an area of 80 sq km and a maximum depth of 74 m. It is situated at an elevation of 518 m. The lake drains into the Inn River of the Danube River basin through the Alz River. The Chiem is used for navigation and fishing.
