Owned by state of Nebraska; administered by the city of Bayard, the Nebraska State Historical Society, and the National Park Service under a cooperative agreement of June 21, 1956. Location: 1.5 miles south of NE 92 on Chimney Rock Road in Bayard, Nebraska. Facilities: Visitor center with interpretive displays, video presentation, and group tours. Entrance fee required. Special Features: As they travelled west, pioneers camped near this famous landmark, which stands 500 feet above the Platte River along the Oregon and California trails. See other parks in Nebraska.
