Chinilin, Anatolii Ivanovich
Born Aug. 8 (21), 1913, in the village of Izheslavl’, in what is now Riazan’ Oblast. Soviet athlete, one of the founders of the Soviet school of volleyball. Honored Master of Sport (1944); international-class official (1951); Honored Coach of the USSR (1956). Chinilin was volleyball champion of the USSR on several occasions in the 1930’s. A member of the CPSU since 1943, he is also a veteran of the Great Patriotic War (1941–45). Chinilin has been awarded two orders and several medals. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
