chip rate |
Also found in: Wikipedia | 0.06 sec. |
chip rateIn direct sequence spread spectrum technologies such as DSSS and CDMA, it is the number of bits per second (chips per second) used in the spreading signal. A different spreading signal is added to the data signal to code each transmission uniquely. The number of chips (bits) in the spreading signal is significantly greater than the data bits. Chip rate is measured in "megachips per second" (Mcps), which is millions of chips per second. See spread spectrum, CDMA and 802.11. How to thank TFD for its existence? The long code generator is required to generate spreading sequences at a chip rate of 1. The reference design includes all baseband processing (sample rate, chip rate and symbol rate operations), as well as MAC-hs scheduler, operations and management (OAM) functionality and protocol termination. NYSE: ADI), a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal processing applications, today announced the availability of its second-generation chipset for developers of advanced multimedia mobile handsets based on the 3G TD-SCDMA Low Chip Rate (LCR) air interface. |
