Chippewa Moraine Ice Age State Recreation Area Location: 7 miles west of New Auburn on County Road M. Facilities: Picnic areas (é), hiking trails, nature trails, primitive campsite, boat launch, interpretive center, scenic vista. Activities: Boating, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, bird watching, naturalist programs. Special Features: The Ice Age National Scenic Trail, a 1,000-mile trail located entirely within Wisconsin, passes through park (see separate entry in national trails section). Interpretive center sits atop a hill that was once a glacial lake bottom. Park is part of the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve.
