a city in Colombia, in Boyacá Department. Situated at an elevation of 2,550 m. Population, 28,000 (1968). Chiquinquirá is linked by railroad with Bogotá. Cottage industry includes the manufacture of musical instruments and wood products. The Muzo emerald mines are nearby.
