choriocarcinoma: see neoplasm neoplasm or tumor, tissue composed of cells that grow in an abnormal way. Normal tissue is growth-limited, i.e., cell reproduction is equal to cell death.

A highly malignant tumor derived from chorionic tissue; found most commonly in the uterus and testis. Also known as chorioepithelioma.

Moreover, none of the genes reported to be up- or down-regulated in response to BaP in other systems [p53 in A549 or 3T3 cells (24), c-myc and transforming growth factor (TGF)-[Beta] in a placental choriocarcinoma cell line (25), and glutathione-S-transferase (GST)-Ya in HEPG2 cells (26)] responded to BaP at any of the doses or times studied.
There was a large increase in adverse reproductive outcomes, including stillbirths, spontaneous abortions, hydratidiform moles, and choriocarcinomas, after the period of application of Agent Orange.
