chromatic adaptation [krō′mad·ik ‚ad‚ap′tā·shən]
(physiology)
A decrease in sensitivity to a color stimulus with prolonged exposure.
(psychology)
Modification in the perceived hue or saturation of a light stimulus resulting from prior viewing of a light of different hue or saturation.
