Chubut River

Chubut River

River, southern Argentina. Rising in the Andes Mountains, it flows eastward across Chubut province 500 mi (800 km) before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean at Punta Castro. It is unnavigable, but its lower course irrigates the adjacent valley, which is agriculturally important.

Rev Michael D Jones was the driving force behind the creation of the Welsh-speaking settlement in the Chubut Valley, a sparsely populated region of Argentina 150 years ago.
The activities supported by the assembly benefit both the communities of the Chubut Valley and the Andes.
Somehow it reminds me of the pseudo-Welsh settlement of Dolavon in the wind-swept Chubut valley in Argentina, both places in need of some Hollywoodesque tumbleweed to complete the picture.
