Dates of birth and death unknown. Native of Pistoia, Italy.

From 1594 to 1615, Cilli was a singer in the choir of the king of Poland and a secret political agent of the duke of Tuscany at the Polish court. The second part of Cilli’s work dealt with the First False Dmitrii, with whom he was acquainted.
