Ciudad Bolívar
a city in northeastern Venezuela. Capital of the state of Bolívar. Population, 109,600 (1970). Ciudad Bolívar is a port on the Orinoco River, which is navigable for oceangoing vessels and is used for the export of iron ore. A highway junction and an important commercial center, the city has sawmills, woodworking enterprises, enterprises of the food-processing and leather and footwear industries, and slaughterhouses.
