Clark, Lewis Gaylord, 1808?–1873, American editor and writer, b. near Syracuse, N.Y. He was the editor (1834–60) of the Knickerbocker Magazine and made it a leading literary publication of its day. He wrote Knickerbocker Sketch-Book (1845) and Knick-Knacks from an Editor's Table (1852). His twin brother, Willis Gaylord Clark, 1808?–1841, was coeditor (1834–41) of the Knickerbocker.
