Clark's Hill/Norton State Historic Site Location: Northeast of Osage City, off Highway J in Cole County. Facilities: Trails. Activities: Hiking. Special Features: Site preserves a site recorded in the journal of William Clark in 1804. The Lewis and Clark Expedition had camped nearby, and Clark ascended the hill for a view of the confluence of the Missouri and Osage Rivers. Some Indian burial mounds observed by Clark lie along the wooded trail that takes visitors to the overlook of the rivers.
