Clayton, Henry De Lamar (dĕ l`əmär'), 1857–1929, U.S. congressman, b. Barbour co., Ala. A Democrat, he was a member of the House of Representatives from 1897 to 1915 and later a federal district judge. He is chiefly remembered as the author of the Clayton Antitrust Act Clayton Antitrust Act, 1914, passed by the U.S. Congress as an amendment to clarify and supplement the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890.
