Clayton, Paula Jean (1934–  ) psychiatrist; born in St. Louis, Mo. She became professor and head of the department of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical School (1980). Her main areas of research were psychiatric diagnosis and the symptomatology and course of normal bereavement.
