(communications)
A method of captioning or subtitling television programs by coding captions as a vertical-interval data signal that is decoded at the receiver and superimposed on the normal television picture.

Maximum-security facilities in Western countries have walls or double or triple fences, barbed or razor wire, watchtowers, and closed-caption television monitors, while minimum-security facilities have much less security and often not even a perimeter fence.
