To the Editor: Coccidian protozoans that belong to the genus Cryptosporidium frequently cause gastrointestinal infection in humans and animals and are distributed worldwide. parvum is a coccidian enteric pathogen of mammals that causes clinical disease in numerous species, including swine and humans (172). cayetanensis are, in comparison with those of other coccidian parasites, noninfectious in freshly excreted stool. |
