(electricity)
A system of colors used to indicate the electrical value of a component or to identify terminals and leads.
(engineering)
Any system of colors used for purposes of identification, such as to identify dangerous areas of a factory.
A system of colors used to identify the type of material carried by a pipe; for example, dangerous materials, protective materials, extra valuable materials.

A system of colors adopted for identification of pipes, cables, wiring, or the like.

A COLOUR code has revealed a clean sweep in the fight against credit crunch crime, police said today.
They had indicated they would consider a colour code for all cars to be silver, but they were opposed to the authority insisting that all cars be white.
Those sending texts can help staff identify where the problem is by using the colour code.
