Combat Leaflet

Combat Leaflet

one of the forms of soldiers’ wall newspapers published in subunits of Soviet Army and Navy units. Combat leaflets became widespread from the time of the combat operations near Lake Khasan (1938). During the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, soldiers used the combat leaflets to tell of the heroic feats of their comrades, express their patriotic feelings, and call for the defeat of the fascist German aggressors. Combat leaflets were even put out during intense fighting and were usually passed along the skirmish line. During peacetime, combat leaflets are issued during tactical exercises and drills, during firing, and during the standing of combat duty and guard; their content consists of questions on combat drill and service and on the daily life and routine of the subunits.
