Work is underway in the SNIA working groups to define standards to integrate SAN management applications with enterprise-level management applications using modeling schema such as the common information model (CIM). NET Management Services will allow industry-leading management solutions to work together easily by writing to industry standards such as the Common Information Model (CIM) and the Extensible Markup Language (XML), without the need to integrate with proprietary frameworks. By supporting this standard, Astoria enables customers to establish a common information model that maximizes content reuse and content interoperability where documentation published by one manufacturer can be readily incorporated into that of another manufacturer, a channel partner, or an approved third party. |
