Conformable Bedding
in geology, a relationship in the bedding between the layers (horizons, formations) of sedimentary rock that reflects a continuous deposition of the sediment from which the rocks were formed; that is, a stratigraphic sequence is observed with parallel or virtually parallel deposition. Conformable bedding also characterizes the relationship between the layers in volcanogenic and metamorphic rocks. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
