Conneaut (kŏn`ēŏt'), city (1990 pop. 13,241), Ashtabula co., extreme NE Ohio, on Lake Erie, near the Pa. line; settled 1799, inc. 1834. It is a port of entry—an important ore-receiving port and a limestone and coal loading center—and a vacation resort. Conneaut has a railroad museum, with antiques of the steam era. |
