control point [kən′trōl ‚pȯint]
(computer science)
The numerical value of the controlled variable (speed, temperature, and so on) which, under any fixed set of operating conditions, an automatic controller operates to maintain.
One of the hardware locations at which the output of the instruction decoder of the processor activates the input to and output from specific registers as well as operational resources of the system.
(mapping)
Any station in a horizontal and vertical grid that is identified on a photograph and used for correlating the data shown on that photograph.
(navigation)
A position marked by a buoy, boat, aircraft, electronic device, conspicuous terrain feature, or other identifiable object which is given a name or number and used as an aid for navigation or control of ships, boats, or aircraft.
