Coosa RiverRiver, in Georgia and Alabama, U.S. Formed by the confluence of the Etowah and Oostanaula rivers at Rome, Ga., it flows south for 286 mi (460 km) through the Appalachian Ridge and Valley region into the Gulf coastal plain.
