Cordier, Andrew W. (Wellington) (1901–75) United Nations official, educator; born in Canton, Ohio. He taught history and political science at Manchester College (1923–44) and was executive assistant to the United Nations secretary general (1946–62). As acting president (1968–69) and president (1969–70) of Columbia University, he helped to restore order to the campus.
