Corps Commander 

(Russian acronym, komkor), a military rank in the ground forces and the air force of the Red Army from 1935 to 1940.

It was introduced by a resolution on Sept. 22, 1935, of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR. The corresponding rank in the navy was flag officer first class and for the military-political personnel of the army and navy, corps commissar. The rank of corps commander was abolished on May 7, 1940.
