The main objective of our work was to develop a test cell that can accommodate the actual corrosion coupons of size 100 x 150 mm, or according to the standard size suggested by ASTM G50-76 (2003) which normally represents similar samples used for atmospheric exposure as well as in the laboratory-accelerated weathering corrosion cabinet tests.
Importantly, during the last period of 51 hours of pilot plant operation, when the corrosion coupon effect was reduced (most of the corrosion having likely already occurred), the autoclave extractions were 76% for gold, 94% for platinum and 90% for palladium.
