Corrugation

the formation of corrugations (bends or waves) on sheets of ferrous and nonferrous metals, asbestos cement, cardboard, or fabric in order to increase the materials’ stiffness under conditions of bending or compression strains. Rounded corrugations are most often used; trapezoidal, triangular, and more complicated forms are less frequent. Corrugation is performed on presses (by molding) or between shaped rolls (by rolling). Corrugated materials are widely used in construction, the aircraft industry, and other branches of engineering.

After the comparison of the ultimate load results of panels with transverse corrugation (crimples) to the panels without the transverse corrugation, it was concluded that the transverse corrugation reduces ultimate load capacities of the panels (ultimate load of corrugated panels comprises 72-105% of the straight panels without crimples).
However, the corrugation shape used in Zhang's study is triangular, although it was reported that only the pressure drop will be affected by the corrugation shape and not the heat transfer rate (Kanaris et al.
The part of the ingot starting from the end of the bottom part (150--300 mm) did not contain defects and this was followed by constrictions with corrugation along the length of 250-600 mm.
The arches have deep corrugation in the steel which makes them nine times stronger that the conventional system.
They include CNC ultraprecision form grinders, CNC column-type surface grinders, optical profile form grinders, and gear grinders as well as dedicated grinding machines, such as slit and corrugation type.
The product is particularly suited for heavy duty applications because of its lower temperature susceptibility, elastic recovery, improved resistance to fatigue, higher stability and resistance to rutting and corrugation.
Project Description : The road surface condition is currenlty poor and unsafe from corrugation and potholing.
KARACHI -- The Director General of National Accountability Bureau (NABSindh) Naeem Siraj has said that we all have to work together for the eradication of the menace of corrugation from the society.
The melted copper acts as a brazing agent to seal the edges of the BPHE plates and also bonds the meeting points of the corrugation ridges to provide pressure retention strength.
Differential speed, corrugation form and corrugation number are just some parameters, which permit optimization for the perfect grinding result.
The correlations are functions of plates corrugation angle and Reynolds number (Focke et al.
