Coup de Poing

    0.01 sec.
Coup de Poing

a tool widely used by prehistoric man in the Chellean and Acheulean epochs of the Paleolithic period. The coup de poing is an almond-shaped stone flaked by chipping on two sides. It is thickened and rounded at its base and pointed at the other end. The coup de poing was used as a striking tool, although it was also used for other purposes, including digging for edible roots and ferreting out small animals from their burrows.
