Couples use it to treat infections (vaginal douche, penis soak). Used as astringent both internally and externally to stop bleeding, nosebleeds, menstrual, hemorrhaging. Used as mouthwash to treat gingivitis, mouth ulcers. Root is antispasmodic. Note- rare occurrences of dry mouth and heart palpitations.
