Crop-Rotation Farming
an intensive system of farming in which the arable land is occupied by cereal, industrial (sugar beets, potatoes, sunflowers), and forage (grasses, root feeds) crops. There ordinarily is no clean fallow. The fertility of the soil is restored and increased by correct alternation of crops (crop rotation), application of large doses of fertilizer, thorough soil tillage, and, in arid regions, irrigation.
