Cross Ranch State Park

Location: 12 miles southeast of Hensler.
Facilities: 70 campsites (7 with electrical hookups), showers, backcountry hike-in campsites, 3 log cabins, picnic shelters, playground, hiking trails, boat ramp, canoe rentals, visitor center, amphitheater.
Activities: Camping, boating, fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing.
Special Features: Park is located along seven miles of the last free-flowing, undeveloped stretches of the Missouri River. The park's visitor center features exhibits and displays interpreting the once-mighty river and how man's alterations have affected it. An extensive trail system allows access to the adjacent Cross Ranch Nature Preserve (see separate entry) and its varied ecosystems.
