Curry Hammock State Park Location: On both sides of US 1, starting at Little Crawl Key (Mile Marker 56.2), 11 miles west of Long Key. Facilities: 28 full-facility campsites (open November-May), campers-only bathhouse with hot showers (é), cold-water outdoor showers (for day-use visitors), picnic area, pavilions (é), playground, nature trail. Activities: Camping, swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, saltwater fishing, bicycling, hiking, inline skating, wildlife viewing. No launching of powerboats is permitted at this park. Special Features: Park is made up of a group of tropical islands in the Middle Keys with hardwood hammocks that support one of the largest populations of thatch palms in the US. Mangrove swamps, seagrass beds, and wetlands on the islands provide habitats for tropical wildlife.
