Curvometer

    0.01 sec.
Curvometer

an instrument for measuring segments of curved and wavy lines on topological maps, charts, and graphical documents. Curvometers have circular or linear scales. Each kind is made in two types: with a fixed dial plate and a movable pointer or index, or with a movable dial plate and a fixed index. To measure the length of a line the small wheel of the curvometer is rolled along it. The distance measured in one revolution of the scale is 100 cm. The instrumental error for a straight-line segment of not less than 50 cm does not exceed 0.25 cm. Curvometers are standardized in the USSR.
