Cutting, Bronson M. (Murray) (1888–1935) journalist, U.S. senator; born in Oakdale, N.Y. A journalist, he used his Santa Fe, N.M., newspaper to crusade for progressive causes. Appointed to the U.S. Senate in 1927 (Rep., N.M.), he served until his untimely death in 1935, and won a reputation as a supporter of the New Deal and independence for the Philippines. |
