On the northeastern border of OH, bordered on north by Lake Erie; organized Jun 7, 1808 from Geauga County. Name Origin: For the Cuyahoga River, which runs through it; from an Indian word, exact origin uncertain. Possibly from Cayahaga 'crooked,' or Cuyahoganuk 'lake river,' or the Iroquoian word for 'river.'
