Cycas

Cycas 

a genus of gymnosperms of the class Cycadopsida. There are about 20 species, distributed from Madagascar and the Comoro Islands to South and Southeast Asia, Australia, and Polynesia. Two species from Southeast Asia are particularly well known: C. circinalis and C. revoluta. Both species are cultivated in the USSR as ornamentals on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus.

Some of the species found on Pam's land are extremely rare, such as the Cycadaceae Zamia pumila, a low-growing fern-like coontie plant that serves as food for the Florida atala butterfly caterpillar (Eumaeus atala), which is a candidate for inclusion on the U.
