DFSMS

(Data Facility Storage Management System) Data management, backup and HSM software from IBM for MVS and OS/390 mainframes. Introduced in 1993, it combines separate backup, copy, HSM and device driver routines into one package, which provides all the I/O management for the operating system. See SMS and ADSM.

In April 1988, IBM announced DFSMS (Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem) for their MVS (mainframe) computers.
