DNG file

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.03 sec.

(Digital NeGative file) A digital camera file format from Adobe that was designed to provide a standard for RAW files (camera vendors have their own proprietary RAW formats). Introduced in 2004, Adobe also provides converters from popular RAW formats to DNG. The format was developed to provide a standard maximum-resolution format that all camera vendors would eventually support directly in their cameras. See RAW file.
