DOS Expand

DOS Expand
An external command starting with DOS 5 that installs decompressed files from the DOS distribution disks. Compressed files have an underscore in place of the last letter of the extension; for example, EX_ and SY_.

For example, to copy and decompress the SHARE.EXE file from A: to the DOS directory on C:, type:
    expand a:\share.ex_ c:\dos\share.exe
