DOS box

DOS box
Slang for a DOS session in Windows or OS/2. The "box" is actually an instance of the Intel x86 Virtual 8086 Mode, which simulates an independent, fully functional PC environment. See Virtual 8086 Mode.

uk Half Of Businesses Unaware If Staff Are Running Virtual Desktop IT security and control firm Sophos has announced that the application control feature of Sophos Endpoint Security and Control has been extended to give businesses the option to block virtualization applications, including free desktop and data centre products from VMware, as well as tools from DosBox and Microsoft's Virtual PC 2007.
Dosbox could not work, there is nothing on screen and the background music is loud, the tester could try to close the music.
If you a little further back, though, to the DOS era, things get much easier thanks to DOSBox.
