Dra

or Oued Dra, a river in southwest Africa, in Morocco. Length, 1,150 km. It takes its source in the Dades and Imini rivers on the southern slopes of the High Atlas Mountains and flows into the Atlantic. Only 200 km of the river’s course has a constant flow; further down, almost all of it is drained off for irrigation. The water reaches the ocean only when the mountain snows melt. The Dra River valley is densely populated.
