DVB-MHP
(Digital Video Broadcast-Multimedia Home Platform) A Java-based platform for interactive TV over the Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) system. The DVD-MHP set-top box can receive HTML pages and Java applets (called "Xlets") from, and send queries and responses to, the DVB operator. See DVB.

STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM), the world's largest supplier of silicon devices for set-top boxes (STBs), has announced that its affiliate company Shanghai-BMC -- a joint venture between ST and Jiaotong University subsidiary HDIC -- has unveiled its complete DVB-MHP compliant middleware solution for TV STBs intended for the international market, including Chinese operators.
Plus, interactivity in the ATSC-ATVEF or DVB-MHP and other similar models is more expensive than in a pure data-casting (IP-TV) model.
SkyLife provides over 160 video and audio channels including 24-hour HD channel SkyLife HD, SkyLife also offers 'Sky Touch', interactive broadcasting service, which has DVB-MHP application basis for the first time in the world.
