Dagu
(also Daju or Tagu), a people inhabiting the southwestern outskirts of Kordofan Province in the Sudan and certain areas on the Darfur plateau on both sides of the Sudan-Chad border. They number more than 100,000 (1967, estimate). Their language belongs to the language group of central and eastern Sudan. A substantial number of Dagu know Arabic. Their religion is Islam of the Sunnite persuasion. The chief pursuits are farming (rice, wheat, and millet) and livestock raising. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
