Dalberg, Emmerich Joseph (Emeric Joseph, duc de Dalberg) (ĕmərēk` zhōzĕf` dälbârk`), 1773–1833, French diplomat of German origin; nephew of Karl Theodor von Dalberg. The foreign minister of Baden, he entered (1810) the service of French Emperor Napoleon I, who made him a duke and a councillor of state. A follower of Charles Maurice de Talleyrand Talleyrand or Talleyrand-Périgord, Charles Maurice de , 1754–1838, French statesman and diplomat.
