Dallin, Cyrus (Edwin) (1861–1944) sculptor; born in Springville, Utah. He grew up in the West, studied in Boston, Mass. (c. 1880–82), in Paris (1888), and settled in Arlington Heights to teach at the Massachusetts State Art School (1900–40). He is known for his American Indian subjects, such as The Appeal to the Great Spirit (1908), which stands in front of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. How to thank TFD for its existence?
