Dan Ivanovich Pozniak

Pozniak, Dan Ivanovich 

Born Oct. 19, 1939, in the village of Tołczak, Białystok Province, in what is now Poland. Soviet boxer. Honored Master of Sports (1965). Teacher. Member of the CPSU since 1961.

Pozniak was light heavyweight champion of the USSR in 1962, 1965, 1967, and 1968; European champion in 1965, 1967 and 1969; and Olympic champion in 1968. He has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
